The Alumni Association of J. D. Birla Institute was registered in the year 2004 with an objective to foster the growth of healthy interaction between the institution, the staff and students; and to work for the mutual benefit for all. A group of ex-students of this institute, who at present are also the faculty of this institute, decided to bring the ex-students together under the umbrella of this association.

The success of an academic institution is its alumnae. Graduates of this institute occupy prestigious positions in various fields. Numerous alumnae have been successful as Academicians, Administrators, Fashion Designers, Interior Designers, Dieticians, and Counselors and as Entrepreneurs in a remarkable variety of businesses, in India and abroad
Association is still at its nascent stage but in this short period has organized several activities for its members:
  • Annual reunions since its inception for its members providing platform for interaction and socializing
  • Annual Musical evening for present and ex-students.
  • Lectures on Cancer Awareness; A Discourse on Handling Emotions; Symposium entitled Value Inculcation In Higher Learning; Panel Discussion on Thalesaemia, Emerging Issues on Empowerment of Women and many such enriching and current topics are brought to the fore for discussion.
  • Book bazaar at college premises for purchase of books at discounted rates.
The association also involves its alumnae in the numerous college activities to make them feel that they are a part of the college.
  • Every year they are invited for the annual cultural show, annual sports day, seminars organized by the institute.
  • Potential of the alumni members is recognized by the institute and hence they are invited from time to time to deliver lectures/conduct practical classes for the students of certain short term revenue generating courses of the college such as Finishing School, Bakery and Cookery, Chocolate making classes and others.
  • Alumni members are tapped as field investigators/assistants for the research projects being carried out in the college.

Member Mrs. Chaitali Chowdhury, Ex-Faculty of the Institute
To make communication easier and faster the association has formed a Yahoo Group whereby the members can be in touch with each other and also any information pertaining to the activities of the association can be passed around. Any ex-student of the Institute can be a part of the group.

The Association invites all the ex students of the institute to join hands and make this association a success. They can become either a Life Member (on payment of Rs.800/-) or an Annual Member (on payment of Rs.200/-) by downloading the registration form and submitting it at the institute from Monday to Friday between 10:00am to 12:00 noon.
